General Requirements for Completion of Degree
A Master of Science or Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies is awarded when the following requirements are completed:
- All courses required by the student’s Program of Study Committee.
- Thirty-five credits in courses approved for graduate credit. A minimum of nine (9) credits in each of three (3) subject matter areas defined cooperatively by the student and his/her Program of Study Committee are required. Six (6) credits of 590 or independent study credits are allowed. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) research credits will be allowed on the Program of Study.
- A creative component or thesis which is supervised by a member of the student’s Program of Study Committee.
- Satisfactory performance on a final oral examination administered by the student’s Program of Study Committee.
